One of my favorite parts of a family photo session is the free playtime! I usually take a documentary approach at this point in the session and capture the kids engaged in activities they want to explore. The family can forget about the camera and it tends to provide a super laid back atmosphere. I think mom and dad might like this time the best, the posed traditional shots are done, and the kids are free to do exactly what they want! At the beach, this could be running up and down the shore, giving dad high-fives, playing in the sand, or exploring for treasure.
