Winter can be a fabulous time to capture images of your family! Get out into the snow, get the kids involved in an activity and start snapping some pictures!
Taking pictures surrounded by snow can really help strengthen your images. During the other seasons of the year, the foliage can cause many issues with color casts in your pictures. Green foliage will create a green color cast, in the fall you can have red and orange casts onto the skin. In order to eliminate color casts and retain the natural, true tones of a person’s skin, look for light neutral ground cover (concrete, gravel, snow) when taking pictures. Snow is a wonderful ground cover, as it blankets large areas, creating a massive reflector of the light. The reflection will help to soften the light and will illuminate your family and fill in most unflattering shadows.
Grab your camera and capture some candid images of your family enjoying the winter season!
