Preparing for In-Home Portrait Sessions

When doing a home portrait session, I always make a point to meet with the family prior to the session to see the home and understand the lighting conditions I will be working in.  This allows me to be prepared, have a clear idea of where I will choose to pose my clients and have the required gear.

This young girl was engaged and excited to capture a variety of poses to document the memories of her First Communion.  Together we created pictures that showed her fun and playful side as well as the importance of this event. Finding a small spot in the family’s dining room with gorgeous light created images that looked like they were created in a studio.  Moving outside to the home’s manicured gardens offered a fresh backdrop for family pictures. Finally, a few more portraits in the gardens of the church after mass in Park Ridge, IL.
